George’s Corner — Active Ethics

Hopefully all of us want to play “Bridge”, not some game that vaguely resembles Bridge. Our game has a well-defined set of “Laws” that are promulgated by the World Bridge Federation (WBF) and recognized all over the world. Like laws in everyday life, not everyone has read them all, or if they have, understands them. The language, while precise, tends to be stilted.

One of our members who has been involved in competitive, tournament play for many years, George Harris, has presented a series of talks about what is good behaviour at the bridge table and what is, quite simply, unacceptable. Notes from some of those talks given in 2008 have been reproduced here.
