The meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 10:23 a.m.

The minutes of the last meeting, #5, were read and approved.
John warned that he is receiving membership dues and likewise that he is handling the money from the world confederation tournament [World Wide Bridge Contest]. In relation to the treasurer, Señor Norman Sklar, he has communicated that it wil not be possible to talk with him in Guatemal during the tournament. John hopes to receive by e-mail the answers to the foregoing concerning the amounts of money and likewise the bank accounts.
We have received information from the CACBF for the next tournament to be held in which they have invited Costa Rica to be the host. The tournament is scheduled for May 2005 for which to be eligible as host, Costa Rica has to organize a working group to look after the different aspects of the tournament. Recall that we have until the end of September to reply regarding the Association’s interest in taking charge of the organization. We will look for a “screen” that will serve as a sample in order to see the possibility of manufacturing it locally. The games to be held are: teams, national selection [? senior teams?], Women’s teams. To obtain the hosting of the event, one must find sponsorship and other sources of money in order to look for the help of the clubs. As regards the money that is desired, this will be the Association’s.
People who have not yet paid their annual dues. The idea is reviving that those who are not up to date with their dues will be charged a surchagre of 500 colones of which half goes to the Association. Another idea is not to credit “Master Points” to those who are not up to date, asking the club owners not to report them to the ACBL.
